Working in partnership with A&Q Architects, and building on the success of previous projects, Boss Design provided furniture for the Wates Group, as one of the Group’s preferred suppliers of corporate furniture.
The Wates Group, one of the UK’s largest privately-owned construction, development and property services companies, recently opened a new central London office, set over two floors, incorporating a boardroom, several meeting rooms, individual working spaces and breakout areas. Boss Design worked closely with Wates to provide a range of furniture to seamlessly fit into each of these areas.
Designed to accommodate large meetings and a variety of functional requirements, Boss Design’s distinguished and refined Deploy table was the perfect choice for Wates’ 16 seater boardroom. Four integrated power and data stations down the centre of the table provided various charging points, as well as access to the conference call system and a large TV screen for presentations and video conference calls.
In the smaller meeting rooms, Boss Design’s Pegasus table was chosen in Oak with chrome legs in various sizes, both circular or rectangular, depending on the size of the room. Pegasus’ slim line design is ideal for smaller meeting rooms where space is often at a premium. The tables were once again specified with integrated power and data, as well as a cable management system to keep trailing wires organised.
Wates chose Komac by Boss Design’s Q chair for each individual working space, including various hot desking areas. Combining supreme comfort, aesthetic styling and pure functionality, the Q chair is ideal for an every day task chair.
The chair was specified with its naturally flexible and breathable mesh-back in a dark grey tone, complimented by a sophisticated navy blue sliding seat and polished aluminium five star base. Q’s synchronised mechanism ensures comfort throughout its range of movement.
In the breakout areas across both floors, several Myriad seating units were chosen in bright colourways, standing out against the workspace’s white walls. Completely flexible and reconfigurable, Myriad offers infinite possibilities, with the option of integrated power and data.
It is easy to mix and match the Myriad range with other products from across the Boss Design portfolio. Wates took advantage of this, complimenting the Myriad chains with several Reef tables by Komac. The Reef tables were chosen with a white circular top and black base, in various heights. Both products worked together to encourage spontaneous meetings between colleagues, as well as providing a touch down area for phone calls or work away from the desk.
Lyndon by Boss Design’s Agent dining table and benches were chosen for a separate breakout area closer to the upstairs kitchenette. This provided a space for employees to refuel during the day as well as an area for more informal meetings.
Lyndon also provided bespoke banquette seating in the main kitchen area, providing comfort for staff as well as being easy to keep clean and maintain, which is of utmost importance in well used staff breakout spaces.
Angela Burke, Corporate Account Manager at Boss Design, comments, “Our latest project with the Wates Group at their new London offices showcases how Boss Design’s portfolio can furnish any Habitat of a workspace. Our successful on-going partnership is something we are really proud of, and we look forward to working with the Wates Group on future corporate projects."
