Boss Design and the PI Group worked together to furnish Health Service Laboratories’ (HSL) brand new laboratory space at the Halo Building in central London. The new facility is home to more than 1000 staff working within a connected suite of laboratories. Situated near to some of the finest hospitals and medical schools in Europe, it will be transformational in the delivery of a new kind of healthcare.
The brief set by HSL was simple; to showcase classic style within a focused budget strategy. The newly created space featured clean and modern colour ways such as white and grey tones, with subtle blue and orange accents. Boss Design was asked to provide chair and table solutions for HSL’s meeting rooms and staff cafeteria area.
The meeting rooms included Boss Design’s light and versatile Mars chair, which is generously proportioned with a flexible seat to provide comfort and a modern aesthetic. Mars was specified in a grey leather upholstered seat and a white polypropylene back.
Alongside Mars, Boss Design’s Pegasus table was chosen by HSL, offering a sophisticated slim-line design. The table’s white top and chrome legs complimented the new office’s refined interior. The Pegasus table is the ideal table for meeting and conference spaces, coming in a range of shapes and dimensions.
In the staff cafeteria area, a mix of Loop chairs and Reef tables from Boss Design’s Komac brand were specified at different heights to provide a choice of areas for staff to socialise, work or hold informal meetings. A highly modern design, Loop was presented in a light grey colour with chrome sled legs, in both standard and stool height. Loop is easily stackable and cleanable, providing the perfect solution for the cafeteria. To compliment the chairs, the Reef table was chosen with a white top with a chrome base.
The PI Group said of the install, “Boss offered excellent quality products and the team were responsive and obliging. Changes were made right up to the wire, but there was never a complaint, just a can do attitude.”
