Global accountancy and business advisory firm BDO International, collaborated with leading UK furniture designer and manufacturer Boss Design for the successful refurbishment of their office space in Leeds. BDO were looking for a solution to incorporate new ways of working into the office; this included extended working zones, breakout spaces, as well as a multi-use staff café area. With the Boss Design portfolio incorporating all of these key requirements, it was the perfect choice for BDO.
Working alongside interior designers Enjoy Design, cost consultants Fox Lloyd Jones and furniture consultants Project FF&E, the brief for the refit was simple; to create a contemporary and modern workspace that was multifunctional for their employees and visitors. With the decor featuring grey and white tones, the furniture specified offset the tones through the use of bright accent colours such as red, orange and green. This gave the office a refreshed, modern feel.
Smaller meeting rooms included a selection of Boss Design’s contemporary Kruze chairs upholstered in a subtle pastel fabric choice. Being the main area for client interaction, the space needed to obtain the ultimate mix between professional design, style and comfort. Possessing presence and panache, Kruze complemented the environment whilst promising outstanding sitting comfort.
Alongside the meeting rooms and within the reception area to the building, the Marnie low back option was used as the lounge chair of choice. Specified on a four-star base throughout, the comfort and luxurious appearance was exactly what BDO were looking for, making a statement on first impression.
With a healthy workplace being an important part of the office, it was important a task chair was specified for multiple use, as well as longer periods of time spent at a desk. Trinetic being the world's first fully certified task chair providing dynamic support without the need for manual user adjustments, was the perfect answer for seating in flexible work environments where the same chair may be used by multiple people throughout the week.
With space in many office environments being limited, BDO used the cafeteria for a communal eating area as well as more casual, relaxing working space. Doubling up for informal meeting requirements, the Agent high stools were designed for such needs, the generous scoop to the seat allowing for longer periods of comfortable use. The accompanying Agent dining chair was also included.
Mark Triggs, Group Sales and Marketing Director at Project FF&E commented: “BDO came to us looking for a solution for a more modern, contemporary office refurbishment. They wanted luxury and quality, without compromising on style, with the relationship between suppliers being an important factor. The furniture and environment needed to be carefully considered within the specification, and with Boss Design being well known for such attributes, they were the ideal designer and manufacturer of choice. We are extremely happy with the results as are the clients.”
