Hilton, the flagship brand of the Hilton Hotels Corporation, comprises of over 500 hotels in cities across the world. Boss Design has a long standing relationship with the brand having furnished guest bedrooms and meeting suites for over 15 years in the UK and abroad. Our relationship has developed to such a point that we were one of a number of furniture companies asked to showcase a new look guest bedroom chair for a scheme of refurbishment taking place at the iconic Hilton Park Lane hotel in the heart of Mayfair, London. A half a million pound refurbishment had already taken place in the hotel’s meeting rooms transforming them into retro chic spaces, so it was equally important that the bedrooms reflected a similar style.
Michael Shepherd, Manager of Hilton Park Lane, had a clear idea as to the type of chair he required for the guest bedrooms. Having redesigned all the bedrooms into bright, modern spaces he wanted to move away from the traditional ‘office’ looking chair and choose something that looked inviting, yet had a contemporary style.
The project team in charge of the refurbishment consisted of Architects Hunt Hamilton Zuch, Hilton Senior Project Manager, David Lloyd and Chartered Surveyors Barton Minty who put forward the stylish Pro cantilever stacking chair upholstered in Skopos Impact Poise Felspar vinyl for the 13th floor sample room in February 2010. After several mock ups of the guest bedroom the project team chose the Pro chair due its contemporary design and flexibility, allowing it to be used for a variety of purposes. A phased supply programme began in March to accommodate 226 prestigious guest rooms.
Commenting on the choice of the Boss Design Pro cantilever stacking chair Michael Shepherd, Manager of Hilton Park Lane, said;
‘Discerning travellers and hotel guests are demanding ever higher levels of luxury and comfort in hotel bedrooms.
At the top end furnishings need to be well designed for the variety of purpose and ensure durability while maintaining a balanced aesthetic appearance. City centre hotels are invariably limited in space and therefore furniture provided is often used for a variety of different functions.
With the selection of this particular chair, Hilton was keen to ensure it had a 5 star deluxe appearance, integrated with the harmony of design, serve as a robust chair for guests working at the desk, but at the same time being suitable as a comforting chair for guests using the vanity area. This particular chair served all functions which matches the upholstery of the footstool accompanying the easy chair. The result is a master of design covering all carefully defined requirements.’

‘In keeping with Hilton's brief we sourced a desk chair that was both comfortable and functional whilst also aesthetically pleasing to the eye. The Boss Pro cantilever stacking chair ticks all of these requirements. We feel it offers a slick and contemporary design that provides comfort and a pleasing style to compliment the guestrooms.’
Our relationship with Hilton has enabled us to furnish several flagship hotels worldwide. We have supplied the Roza chair in guest bedrooms based in South Africa, Cameroon and Dusseldorf and Rota tables and Otto chairs in guest bedrooms throughout Europe and the UK.
The pinnacle of our working relationship has been the installation at the new European flagship hotel, Hilton The Hague, Netherlands, where we supplied 150 medium back Kite chairs for guest bedrooms and high back Kite chairs for meeting rooms.
